Alien Masks

This years at Pt England school we have been studying "OUTTA THIS WORLD" and so the year 7 students in room 19 have been designing aliens.

The first thing we did was we designed our own aliens using our imaginations. When we have finished designing our aliens on a piece of paper we then got the materials that we needed to make it The things that we needed was glue and newspaper. When we had all the materials we needed we started to make our alien.

To get the shape of the alien we had to scrunch up newspaper and put them all together to make a big round head. Later on after we had made the aliens head shape we ripped the left over newspaper into strips so that we could dip it into the glue and sicked it onto the alien. The reason why we did this was so that we can make our alien head nice and round with no massive bumps on it. After we added the strips of newspaper on we then left it outside for the day to dry. The next day I got my alien and i started to paint it. The colour i choose was green because my favourite colour was green. My alien had anttennas so i made my aliens antennas out of foil and sticked them on but i coloured the antennas black .It took me a phew days to complete it nut i managed to get it done.

It was cool making my alien mask because it was fun and we got dirty as well.

Solar System Questions

In room 19 our teacher Mr Harris gave all of us students questions about the solar system. Hope this information has helped you know a little bit about Venus and Mars

Why is Venus the brightest object in the sky besides the sun and the moon? Does Mars have two moons? why?

Yes, Venus is one of the brightest objects in the night sky. Venus is
so bright because its thick clouds reflect most of the sunlight that
reaches it (about 70%) back into space, and because it is the closest
planet to Earth. Venus can often be seen within a few hours after
sunset or before sunrise as the brightest object in the sky (other
than the moon). It looks like a very bright star. Venus is the
brightest planet in the solar system.

Yes, Mars has two small moons named Phobos and Deimos. Their names
mean fear and panic in Latin. Phobos and Deimos are not round like our
moon. They are much smaller and have irregular shapes. Phobos is 13.8
miles (22.2 km) across and Deimos is only 7.8 miles (12.6 km) across.
Both moons are covered with craters and are made of rock and iron. It
is possible that Phobos and Deimos were two asteroids which were
captured by the gravity of Mars.

My Dream "Outta This World" Holiday.

‘My dream Outta This World Holiday.’
‘Bring........’ screamed the alarm. I tried to ignore it. I wanted to stay in my dream. My dream Outta This World’ holiday.

When I woke up, I realised that I was not at home. I started to wonder around to see what planet I was in. It was really strange waking up in a totally different planet! the weather was not that hot. As I was wondering around I saw one of my friends and so I ran over to her and asked “Do you know what planet we are in? And she said we are in Venus. I was thinking and thinking and then I asked my friend “I thought Venus will be hotter, because it is closer to the sun than Mercury!

I really did not know where I was then, but I just kept on wondering around. I noticed that I was really far from home and then suddenly a loud noise rang, Then i woke up and I thought to myself thank Goodness I am at home! .

Mercury, venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto
My very easy method just speeds up new planets.

Thanks to Helen for checking my work.
